CRAMER FINISHES THIRD
August 12: This week was a rough one for the Cramer household.
Sabrina and Jesse had heavy hearts this past week with the loss of
Sabrina's uncle. They are also real busy trying to get things done
on their house, which is coming along very nice. These two kids
have a lot on their plates right now, so racing has kind of taken
a back seat while they get something's taken care of. They did
manage to get one race in this weekend with the help of Jesse's
uncle, Jeff Deckard, in getting the car ready for the Wolfpack
race at Paragon Speedway. Jesse started on the pole of his heat
race and won it going away. In the redraw for the feature Jesse
started 5th on the grid. There was not alot of passing going on
once the race got underway. Jesse moved up to third behind a great
race going on between Shelby Miles and Jeff Leka. Jesse had a nice
run finishing third on this night. Not sure what this weekend will
hold for Cramer Motorsports.
CRAMER DEBUTS NEW CAR
Aug 5: Jesse was able to finally finish the new Bob Pierce Race
Car and debut it at the Browstown Speedway on Saturday night. In
the heat race Jesse started on the front row and went onto win,
giving him a second row outside starting position in the feature.
The feature started out pretty good. At the end of lap 1 in this
caution filled feature he was running 4. Chris Streeval then
turned him sideways on lap 4, causing Jesse to loose some
positions back to seven. Then on about lap ten Ryan Thomas ran
over the right front. Looked like just one of those racing deals.
Jesse went to the back, just trying to get some laps in the car.
The car was on the tight side during the race. In the end he had a
mechanical failure and did not finish the race. He is happy with
the car just needs a few races to find out what the car likes and
what changes to make to the car.
CRAMER NEWS
July 24: Most of you are probably wondering what is up with Jesse
lately. Well, he has been struggling somewhat this year, so he has
decided to make a change. Jesse has made the decision to buy a new
Bob Pierce modified chassis, which he already has taken possession
of (last Thursday). We are looking at 2 to 3 weeks to get the car
built and build a new motor. There will also be a new graphics and
color on the car. Everyone will have to wait to see it, because at
this time I don't even know what it is going to look like, other
than the color. Jesse has also acquired a new sponsor, Intense
Motorsports, who is now the Bob Pierce Chassis dealer in Indiana.
So, that is what has been going on with Cramer Motorsports. So be
on the look out for the #12t Jesse Cramer in his new Bob Pierce
chassis modified.
CRAMER INTENSE
July 15: Jesse took the weekend off from driving his own car this
weekend and drove for Intense Racing. On Friday night they went to
Gas City Speedway for the Wolfpack Challenge. There was a great
field of cars there from Indiana, Illinois and Ohio. Jesse started
the night off just missing a transfer spot into the feature
finishing 4th in his heat race. In the B-Main Jesse started on the
outside front row, jumped out into the lead. Durning the race he
recieved pressure from Jeff Bland, Jr., but Jesse held him off for
the win. A stout field of cars and drivers would line up for the
feature, with Jesse starting 16th. Jesse had just moved into the
ninth position when Scott Orr spun in turn two leaving Jesse no
place to go. Jesse restarted the race, but was unable to mount any
kind of charge at the end and finishing 16th. On Saturday the team
traveled to the Tri-State Speedway in southern Indiana. Heat race
action would see Jesse starting 7th and finishing in 3rd. In the
feature Jesse started seventh on the grid and quickly moved into
second behind Zac Fair. Jesse was eventually passed by race winner
Al Flick and 3rd place finisher Evertt Bradham. So, Jesse ended up
fourth on this night. Not a bad run for only his second time in
the Intense Racing Pierce Chassis.
CRAMER LOOKING FOR JUST A LITTLE
LUCK
July 7: How does that saying go "If I didn't have bad luck, I
would have no luck at all". That is just about the way Jesse is
feeling right now. After a disqualification and a broken birdcage
last weekend at Lawrenceburg, Jesse's bad luck continued tonight.
Jesse headed up to Gas City Speedway looking to turn things
around, plus they had a great purse for all classes tonight. In
the heat race Jesse jumped out in the lead and was pulling away
when the rearend broke. Hopefully they will be able to get
everything repaired today and be ready for the topless race at
Brownstown Speedway tonight. I think I am going to put the horse
shoe I found this week while cleaning out the shed on the racecar.
Anybody have a four leaf clover?
CRAMER DOES LAWRENCEBURG
July 1: The night started off very good for Jesse in winning his
heat over Jeff Harris, the eventual winner tonight. After the heat
Jesse did not go down the yellow brick road to the scale house.
Now I don't know if Jesse didn't know about the yellow brick road
or not, because I was not at the drivers meeting. The penalty for
missing the yellow brick road is disqualification. Jesse had to
run the C-main and finished in a transfer spot for the b-main. In
the b-main they were taking the top five, Jesse finished 5th to
transfer to the A-main. In the feature Jesse started on the tail,
put it on the bottom the racetrack and finished 10th. This is a
very nice facility to go and watch a race, but that has got to be
the worst track in the state of Indiana. There were more cautions
for debris than there were for guys spinning out. If they don't
fix the track someone is going to get seriously hurt there, if not
from flipping there racecar, it will be from the driver getting
hit by either sheet metal supports or nerf bars, because plenty of
guys lost both. Jesse even lost a support for the body on the
front stretch. I seen it come off, go up in the air and stick into
the race track about five inches like an arrow. If I were the
insurance company I sure would be thinking twice about insuring
this track. So if you go to race at the Lawrenceburg Speedway,
make sure you don't take your good car, know where the yellow
brick road is, and make sure your insurance is paid up.
UPDATE: It was a shock and
birdcage that broke at the completion of the C-main. The
piece I saw fly into the air was the shaft of the shock. Jesse
raced the rest of the night without a right rear shock on the car.
CRAMER COMES HOME SIXTH
June 30: Bloomington Speedway and fireworks, what a night! Alot of
great racing! Jesse had a good night, too. In his heat race Jesse
had a great run going from his sixth starting spot. He had just
pulled up along second place and right behind the leader when a
caution came out. He wasn't able to get the run going again with
only a few laps left. In the feature Jesse started in the tenth
spot. With heavy traffic holding him up at the start, he was still
able to make some progress. Once breaking free from them he was
holding his own behind Bland. A caution with about seven laps to
go did not help in this situation. I suspect a tire sealed over
under the caution, because the car just didn't seem as fast. After
further review , with the driver, he said the car just tighten up
after the caution. Onto
the next racetrack, Kamp Motor Speedway.
CRAMER BREAKS WHILE LEADING
June 24: After an exhausting week and bad night last night at
Bloomington Speedway, things were looking up for Jesse. He finally
drew a good number for his heat, starting on the outside front row.
He took the lead away from Steve Trabue about 4 laps into the race
and cruised to the win. For the feature Jesse started on the outside
front row with Dennis Boknecht. Jesse, Dennis and Shelby Miles
battled it out for a few laps until Dennis and Shelby got together,
with Shelby spinning out. On the restart Jesse was finally able to
move around Boknecht. Just as a caution came out, a bolt either
broke or came out for one of the bars and the bar got into the drive shaft ending Jesse's night.
Jesse said the car was really good before that happened. Onto
Bloomington Speedway on Friday night and Kamp Motor Speedway on
Saturday night.
CRAMER PRESSURE
June 23: Jesse was under a lot pressure this week. Having sold the
car that he had been racing, he had to get the car that he ran last
year ready to race this week, plus do some engine work. After a very
long week, Jesse, with a lot of help from crew chief Jeff Deckard
and super stock driver Greg Amick, were able to get it all done and
to the race track, only to have the oil pump go bad in hot laps.
Needless to say Jesse was unable to race tonight. Once Jesse
returned home they pulled the oil pan and removed the oil pump and
replaced it with a new one. Jesse will be at Brownstown Speedway
Saturday night.
CRAMER FINISHES SIXTH
June 16: This week Jesse found a problem with the motor in his car,
so he did not race his car. Robinson Racing put Jesse in their
back-up car for the night. Cramer Motorsports would like to thank
them very much for letting Jesse drive their car. In the heat race
Jesse started in the back as usual and with Bland, John Demoss, and
Ray Humphrey in our heat you knew that it was going to be a tough
one. Well it was. Humphrey made a mistake in turn two and that moved
Jesse to third. On a restart Jesse got below Bland and Demoss and
was making a move on them, but a couple of guys got together and
negated that restart. Well Demoss knew what Jesse was doing and took
his line away on the next restart. Jesse ended up placing third in
his heat race. In the feature Jesse started 11th and ran a steady
race finishing 6th. Good points night, because if it hadn't been for
good friends he would not have scored any points. Thanks again
Robinson crew!! Jesse will be taking Saturday night off. He will be
back at Bloomington on Friday night and Brownstown Speedway on
Saturday.
CRAMER STRUGGLES AT BROWNSTOWN
June 10: I don't know how it happened, but somehow the rain missed
Brownstown Speedway, well except for a very brief light rain.
Tonight we had another black slick racetrack and then it started
laying rubber and the racing picked up. Just to give a shout out to
the bomber guys.....some awesome heat races! Jesse's night started
out pretty good. He started third in his heat race and won it. Car
looked good going around on the bottom and Jesse was pretty happy
with it. They made some small changes, nothing major for the
feature. This is where the night went bad for Jesse. The car would
just not work at all from the drop of the green. Just after half way
he slipped off of turn three and just headed for the pit area and
parked the car on the trailer. He is not sure what is going on, but
I think they may be narrowing it down. Jesse is going to change a
couple of things this week to see if it helps the car. I know he is
fustrated right now, because he knows that this is better team than
what it is showing right now. I have faith that they will figure it
out soon and be back on the winning track. Coming up this week Jesse
wil be back at the Bloomington Speedway on Friday night and Saturday
night is undecided at this time.
CRAMER GRABS A TOP 5 FINISH
June 9: Bloomington Speedway provided the drivers with a track you
don't see alot. Slick, black and rubbered up during the night. The
fast way around in the heat race seemed to be to run the bottom to
middle in turns one and two and on the top in turns three and four. If
you ran the top in one and two you lost ground. Jesse would finish
third in his heat race. In the feature the race track was about the
same, but you could run in the middle in one and two. It was a very
difficult track to pass on. After running a very solid race, Jesse was
just beat out for fourth according to the scorers. We soldier on to
the next race, which will be Browstown Speedway Saturday night.
CRAMER WINS 25TH CAREER MODIFIED
FEATURE
June 3: Jesse won his 25th career and his first modified feature at
the Tri-State Speedway on Saturday night. After getting rained out on
Friday night at the Gas City Speedway, I was not looking forward to
getting rained out again. As we pulled into the speedway Saturday
evening there were some thunderstorm looking clouds west of the
speedway. I thought, oh no, here we go again. We did get rained on a
little bit, but the major stuff went around us. The track needed a
little water anyway. In heat race action, Jesse started 4th and jumped
into the lead with only a couple of laps completed. In the feature he
started on the outside front row with Zach Fair on the pole. Zach
jumped into the lead with Cramer going into second right on his
bumper. Jesse finally was able to get a good run on Zach and completed
the pass early in the race and was never challenged again in the race.
This coming weekend we will be back at the Bloomington Speedway on
Friday night and Brownstown Speedway on Saturday night.
UNFREAKINBELIEVABLE!!!!!
June 2: Our night started out with alot of fun at the Colortyme
Customer Appreciation Days. Jesse leaves there with the sun a shining
at 4:30 pm. Hauls .........butt upto the Gas City Speedway. Now this
is a two and half hour driver. Sabrina calls ahead for the draw, no
problem. Get to I465 up near the I69 exit...........traffic jam. Get
through that, pulls into the speedway, misses hot laps. No big deal.
Still the night is not too bad. He starts 5th in his
heat.........still didn't draw any better. That ok though, because on
the first lap of the heat one guy spins out, then the two guys that
started on the inside front and second rows get hooked together trying
to slow down for the caution, to the tail they go. Ok now we are on
the front row starting next to Todd Sherman. The Sherminator jumps out
to the lead, Jesse into second. No big deal, they roll a dice to
determine the invert. And that work out in our favor. Jesse would have
started on the row of the feature. Here is where the night went bad.
After all the heats were completed, it starts to rain. Now I sat there
watching this rain move in on us. Could not believe it. It rains, acts
like it is going to let up. Looks like the light rain is about
through. NOT! A gully washer comes at the end of it. RAINED OUT! Not
only that I have to drive back down I69 through a down pour. And still
didn't get home until almost midnight. And my brother is probably mad,
too.
CRAMER SCORES 10TH PLACE FINISH IN
RICHARDSON MEMORIAL
May 28th: Jesse went to his first David Richardson Memorial and had a
very good night. They did group qualifying and Jesse had quick time in
his group with a 15. 466 and was 10th fastest overall. He started on
the pole of his heat race and jumped out to an earlier lead, but Aaron
Ricketts and Matt Bex were able to get by. The right rear tire finally
started hooking up to the race track with two laps to go and was able
to get back around Bex for second for a transfer spot to the A main.
Jesse started 13th in the feature. At the beginning he started out on
the bottom of the race track not really making any progress, infact
falling back several spots. At about half way he went to the top of
the race track and started picking guys off. He worked his way back up
to a 10th place finish. We all had a great time. Lots of racing with
70 cars signed in for the race. Look forward to going back to this
event again. Racing for this upcoming weekend will be Gas City on
Friday sense there will be no modifieds at the Bloomington Speedway
and right now it looks like Twin Cities Raceway Park for the Wolfpack
Challenge Series on Saturday night. Until then try to say cool!!!
CRAMER LOSING AIR
May 27: The Cramer team ventured down to the legendary Brownstown
Speedway on Saturday night for the $1200 to win Hall of Fame Classic
night. Ok now I know that it can be an exciting race when Jesse has to
start in the back of his heat races, but come on how about a little
luck in the draw area here. In the heat race tonight Jesse started
seventh and made his way up to finish 3rd. In the feature Jesse
started 14th on the grid. In the first 8 laps Jesse made his way up
6th. At some point someone got into him and damaged the left rear
wheel. As a result of this contact the left rear tire slowly lost air
pressure as the race continued. This resulted in a seventh place
finish. Jesse said after the race the left rear had only three pounds
of air pressure. Maybe we needed a little luck in the race, too. Next
up David Richardson Memorial at the Vermillion County Speedway today.
CRAMER SCORES ANOTHER TOP 5 FINISH
May 26: Bloomington Speedway was the place. Dirt modified racing was
the action. Starting the night off in the seventh position in the heat
race is nothing new for Jesse, but that was a loaded heat race. With
Hobbs, Boknecht, Bland, Robinson, and Jesse in one heat race you knew
that it was going to be a good one. Jesse was able to make the right
moves at the right time and pass leader Lee Hobbs for the win. Ok, now
we get to redraw for the line-up of the feature. You guessed it, he
drew the number 5 stick. I'm tellin' ya someone else needs to draw for
him. In the feature the right front spring went bad on the car,
causing the right front to bottom out. Jesse suspected that it might
have been going bad last weekend, but gave it one more race to make
sure that was it. So he ended up fifth with a car that he didn't know
what it was going to do lap to lap. So we will take out fifth place
finish and go on the the next race at Brownstown Speedway Saturday
night for a $1200 to win show.
CRAMER SLIDES TO
SECOND PLACE FINISH AT KAMP
May 20: Kamp Motor Speedway provided the competitors with a challenging
track last night, slick on the bottom and fast on the top. In qualifying
Jesse had a little bobble in turn two, but still had a decent lap which
put him on the outside front row of heat number 3. From there Jesse took
off and lead his entire heat race from green to checkers. In the feature
Jesse started inside the second row. At the drop of the green he went to
the bottom in an attempt to pass Dale Hayes, who started on the outside
front row. With the bottom being a little slick Jesse moved up to the
top of the track in behind race leader Dan Hamstra (started on the pole)
and Dale Hayes. Now being from sprint car country, we know what a
slidejob is. On the first attempt on lap four and completion of passing
Hayes the yellow flag waves, back to third. On the second attempt to
pass Hayes, Jesse went up over the cushion a little and it allowed Hayes
to get back by. On the third attempt and completion, Jesse did it
perfectly, another yellow flag came out. Jesse was finally able to get
by Hayes with seven laps to go in the race. With only seven laps
remaining in the race and Hamstra with almost a straight away lead,
Jesse had his hands full trying to run down Dan. Jesse reeled him in
some, to about 5 car lengths at the checkers. Another great night of
racing at Kamp. Next weekend Jesse will be at Bloomington Speedway on
Friday night and Brownstown Speedway on Saturday night for a $1200 to
win show. Not sure what is in store for Sunday.
CRAMER TAKES POINT
LEAD AT THE BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY
May 19: With the absense of Ray Humphrey, Jesse took the point lead at
the Bloomington Speedway on Friday night. The night started off a little
rough in the heat race. First of all we have to find someone that can
draw for a starting better than Jesse has been doing. At the start of
the heat race two other car got together in turns one and two, which
turned one of them into Jesse tearing the quarter panel pretty much off
the racecar and it also broke a brake line. Jesse was still able to run
down the race leader, Ryan Thomas, but was unable to get around him.
Before the feature the top two finishers in the heat races redraw for
the start of the feature. Guess what number we drew----8. Jeff Bland Jr.
pulled out to a commanding lead with Richie Lex, Ryan Thomas and Jesse
in tow. Thomas and Jesse were able to get around Lex. On the last lap
Bland blew a tire, Thomas inherited to the win and Jesse came in second
and John Demoss coming on strong to finish third. On to Kamp Motor
Speedway Saturday.
CRAMER GOES KAMP"ING"
May 6: Jesse made the decision to go to the Kamp Motor Speedway on
Saturday night. The night started off well with 4th quick time. Jesse's
qualifying time placed him in the 4th heat. After venturing around on
the track a few laps, Jesse decided to set up camp on the highside of
the track. That turned out to be the right decision, as it was the best
place to be for a charge to the front. And charge he did, all night
long. After winning his heat, Jesse lined-up 4th on the grid for the
feature. Again, Jesse decided to set-up camp on the highside along with
Scott Bull. Dan Hamstra set-up camp on the bottom side of the track.
Hamstra and Bull trade the lead back and forth for a majority of the
race with Cramer lurking behind them in third. On the last restart Jesse
was jumped..........well..........that did not set to well with him.
Jesse put on a show for the crowd with a very exciting finish, beating
Dan Hamstra to the finish. There was alot of great racing between these
guys tonight. Next week Jesse will be at Bloomington on Friday and
Brownstown (IN) on Saturday. Until then it is time to celebrate a win
and roast some marshmellows.s.
CRAMER ADDS ANOTHER
TOP 5 FINISH AT BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY
May 5: If you were not at the Bloomington Speedway this Friday night,
you missed some great racing. All three features. The modifieds had a
last lap pass for the feature win. Ray Humphrey over Richie Lex. The
sprints saw Jon Stanborough pass Kevin Huntley with only a few laps
remaining to win the sprint feature. In the Super Stock feature it was
Greg Amick with a late race pass over race long leader Jeremy Hines to
take his first career feature win tonight. Big congradulations go out to
Greg, great job tonight. As for Jesse tonight, had a good run as he was
able to bring the car home to a fifth place finish tonight, after
winning a very exciting heat race over Ray Humphrey earlier in the
evening.
CRAMER FINISHES 2ND AT BLOOMINGTON
SPEEDWAY
April 28: What a great night of racing at the Bloomington Speedway. Alot
of great cars and fans. In the heat race Jesse started 6th and quickly
moved to 2nd behind the always fast Ray Humphrey. Jesse tried every
groove on the track to find away around Ray but to no avail. With the
redraw for the start of the feature Jesse was able to start 4th on the
grid. He tried the outside groove a few laps and fell into the 5th
position. Just about half mark Jesse finally made his move. Getting
around the 2nd place car of John Demoss and the 3rd place car of Ryan
Thomas. Jesse ran down the leader, Kent Robinson, the last half of the
race and with two laps to go Jesse was on his bumper and putting all
kinds of pressure on the 17 year old. Kent held his line and didn't make
any mistakes, Great race between the two. Looking to go to Brownstown
Saturday or where it looks like it is least likely to rain.
Also the Jesse Cramer T-shirts and hoodie sweatshirts have arrived. $15
for t-shirt and $25 for hoodie sweatshirt. $5 shipping. Preview of shirt
can be found at www.jessecramer.com
CRAMER HAS ANOTHER
STRONG RUN
April 22: Twin Cities Raceway
I believe there were about 23 cars tonight at the Twin Cities Raceway.
There was no qualifying tonight either. In the heat race Jesse would
finish 2nd behind Earl Plessinger. In the feature Jesse started 6th on the
grid. He was able to move up into the top 3 early in the race. Later in
the race Jesse would battle with Chris Streeval for 2nd with Streeval
taking the spot. Jesse said the car was good through the corners, but just
couldn't get down the straightaways like he needed to. All in all a third
place finish is not bad for a car that Jesse is still tweaking on to get
the most out of it. Next weekend it will be Bloomington Speedway on Friday
and a good possibility Brownstown Speedway (IN) on Saturday night. LIGHTNING FAST CRAMER
WINS
April 21: Bloomington Speedway---Jesse had a much better night at the
Bloomington Speedway this Friday. With last weeks brake and handling
problems behind him, Jesse was able to show what the car can do. In his
heat race he started shotgun on the field and made his way up to third
behind Derek Groomer (his first heat win) and Ryan Thomas at the checkers.
In the feature Jesse just started 7th on the grid. He wasted no time going
to the front. He ran down early leader Ray Humphrey and pulled out to a
big lead winning by almost half a track.
April 18: Jesse was named
Driver of the Week on CJ's Dirt Track Racing website. If you have not
had a chance to check out CJ's site, please do so. She supports and
loves dirt track racing. She is also a huge Chad Kinder fan, but we
will not hold that against her :). All kidding aside CJ does a great
job with her website/message board. You can find the link for CJ's
Dirt Track Racing on the links page.
April 15: BROWNSTOWN SPEEDWAY
(IN)
Jesse fixed the brake problem from the night before and had much better
results. In the heat race Jesse started on the tail and took the lead on lap
6. He won his heat going away over Tim Eddleman and Ryan Thomas. In the
feature Jesse started 4th and settled in there until Matt Boknecht blew a
motor, so that moved Jesse up to third behind leader Adam Sasser and Jeff
Bland Jr. Jesse would fill presser from the fourth place running driver, Tim
Eddleman. On the last restart with only a couple of laps remaining, Jeff
Bland Jr. would get by Adam Sasser going into turn 3 on the last lap and
Jesse follow throught to finish 2nd. Great night of racing. Can't believe
that we got both shows in this weekend with all the rain in the area!
(didn't have that first bit of rain until I was getting ready to pull into
my driveway Saturday night)
April 14: BRAKES! BRAKES! BRAKES!
Opening night at the Bloomington Speedway did not go
as planned for Jesse. Seems that he had a master cylinder problem.
In the heat race the rear brakes locked down on the rotors, turning the
rotors cherry red. HOT! The rotors broke off of the car and Jesse retired
from the heat race. Jesse elected to run the B-main with no rear
brakes AND WON! using patience and the bottom of the racetrack. So, he
started 16th in the feature, again no rear brakes and was running in the
10th position when Lee Hobbs beat him at the finish line, regulating Jesse
to a 11th place finish.
Jesse should be able to get everything fixed
Saturday and will be at the Brownstown Speedway Saturday night.
April 3: Jesse competed at the Brownstown
Speedway this past Saturday. There were about 60 modifieds signed in
for this event, which paid $1000 to win. Jesse started the night off
very well by winning his heat race. He took the lead from Todd Gilpin
on lap 7 from his 5th starting. In the feature Jesse started on the
outside front row. On the first lap as they went into turn 3, Jesse
spun after making contact with Lee Hobbs. Jesse keep his mount moving,
going against the traffic. Somehow all the other competitors missed
him. Since Jesse keep his car moving he was able to retain his
original starting position. The car was just not that great in the
feature. He is going to change a few things this week that he thinks
will help. He ended up with a solid 6th place finish. This
weekend he is not sure where he is going yet. Stay tuned for updates
this week. |
